What ChitraVault is

ChitraVault provides private, invitation-only photo and video galleries. Each gallery is managed by its own administrator, who decides who may join and what each member may view or download. Nothing on ChitraVault is public or indexed by search engines.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, and profile basics — nothing more. We never see your Google password, contacts, or other Google data.
• Media. Photos and videos uploaded by gallery administrators, stored privately on your behalf.
• Activity within galleries. Sign-ins, which galleries and albums you open, photos you view, videos you play, favorites, and downloads you start. This activity is visible to the administrators of that gallery — each gallery shows its own activity notice.
• Technical basics. A coarse browser family and device class for activity records. We do not keep your precise IP address or full browser fingerprint in activity data. Location metadata embedded in photos is removed from the copies used for browsing.

How we use it

Only to operate the service: authenticating invited members, enforcing each gallery's access rules, showing administrators how their gallery is used, and keeping the service secure. We do not sell or rent data, run advertising, or share information with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers below.

Where data lives

Account, activity, and media data is stored with established cloud infrastructure providers in the United States, encrypted in transit. Media is held in private storage and served only through short-lived authorized links.

Retention and deletion

Detailed activity records are kept for up to 13 months, then deleted or reduced to aggregate statistics. Media remains until the gallery's administrator removes it. To have your account or activity removed, contact your gallery's administrator or email us directly — we honor deletion requests subject to legal requirements.
